The Enterprise Development Programme is a five-year programme, funded by Access – The Foundation for Social Investment. It is managed by a coalition of partners, including multiple infrastructure bodies (sector leads) and Social Investment Business as a strategic grant partner.

PLEASE NOTE THE EDP IS CURRENTLY CLOSED TO NEW APPLICATIONS.

The Enterprise Development Programme piloted in the homelessness and youth sector in 2018. Following great success, the equality and mental health sector joined the partnership in late 2019. The programme was expanded further in 2021 when the environmental and Black & Minoritised communities strands were added to the partnership. Support from the programme enables organisations to grow financial resilience and impact by providing a mixture of grant and learning support to help get enterprise ideas off the ground.

Income from trading is vitally important to organisations. It generates unrestricted funding that can cover core costs and provides greater financial freedom and flexibility.

If accepted onto the programme, participating organisations work collaboratively with sector leads – the Association of Mental Health Providers, the Centre for Youth Impact, Equally Ours, Groundwork, Homeless Link and the Ubele Initiative – throughout the programme journey to best identify support needs (both learning and grants).

In the coming 12 months we will have multiple application windows for both the environmental and black and minoritized communities elements of the programme. Click here to view the application window for your sector.

If you would like to learn more about the work of the various sectors involved in the programme, please reach out to your sector’s Enterprise Development Manager. We always love building supportive relationships with organisations.
